Characteristics:
The color is white, yellow or pale brown with characteristic dark brown spots. The small, fingerlike tubercles give the mantle a smooth appearance. The flattened body may reach a length of 5.5 cm. The spawn has the appearance of a coiled ribbon.
Habitat:
It seems to thrive on all kinds of substrates from the subtidal zone and down to 400 meters. It feeds on sponges like Halichondria spp and Haliclona spp.
Distribution:
It can be found along the Atlantic coasts of Europe, from Troms, Norway to Portugal and Morocco.
