Characteristics:
A. rugosa, previously known as Phakellia rugosa, is a irregular, pale yellow or off-white bush. The erected branches are irregular and flexible. The bush may reach a height of 15 cm.
Habitat:
It has been found on a depths ranging from 24 to 350 meters.
Distribution:
The distribution is somewhat uncertain, but it has been recorded occasionally along the coast of Greenland, France, the British Isles and Norway, as well as the Western Mediterranean.
