Characteristics:
The tubercles of the O. muricata are almost spherical, in contrast to the pointed tubercles of the similar Onchidoris proxima. The body length does not exceed 2 cm. The color is usually translucent white or pale yellow.
Habitat:
It is frequently seen on algae in the subtidal zone, feeding on the bryozoans. It has been registered down to 200 meters depth.
Distribution:
This species has an East Atlantic distribution, from the White Sea and Greenland to France.
