Characteristics:

The diameter of the shell may reach 8 mm. It has six or seven whorls, where last is dominating the total diameter. The spire is flattened. The color is brown, beige or pale yellow. In contrast to the similar E. pulchella it has no dark band. The most characteristic feature is the large foot, clearly visible outside the shell.

Habitat:

It prefers sandy or muddy substrate and is most frequent on depths between 15 and 200 meters. It can sometimes be seen drilling holes through the shell of mussels.

Distribution:

It is registered in the North-East Atlantic Ocean, from Troms, Norway to the Mediterranean.
