Characteristics:
This is a small sea slug, the body length does not exceed 2 cm. Still, the bright red, orange or brownish cerata makes it relatively easy to spot. A relatively large portion of the cerata is constituted by the white tip. The translucent body holds not pigmented spots.
Habitat:
It thrives on a wide depth range from just below the tidal zone and down to several hundred meters. It feeds on a variety of hydroids.
Distribution:
This species is widespread in the North Atlantic Ocean, from Norway to the Mediterranean and from Canadian Arctic to New Jersey.
