Characteristics:
The shell is more than twice as long as deep. It can reach a length of 5 cm. It has a large number of clearly visible concentric ridges. The most characteristic feature is perhaps the keel starting in apex and running to one of the opposite corners. It has a very thin and long siphon.
Habitat:
It lives buried in mixed sand and gravel in the subtidal zone.
Distribution:
The Faroe sunset shell is registered from Finnmark, Norway in the north to the Mediterranean and West African coast in the south.
