Characteristics:
This worm-like sea cucumber may reach a length of 30 cm, but 10 cm is probably more common. It has no tube-feet. Around the mouth there are twelve tentacles, each with 8-11 pairs of digits. The length of the digits increases towards the end of the tentacles. The color of the tube is pink and it has longitudinal muscle-bands.
Habitat:
It is usually found in muddy sand in shallow waters, below the tidal zone and down to 50 meters.
Distribution:
This species is known from the North Sea, around the British Isles and the coasts of Scandinavia.
