Characteristics:
The eight-armed, white, semi translucent polyps, grows no longer than 1 cm. They are solitary animals, but tends to appear in dense groups. The similar, but slightly bigger, Cornularia cornucopiae is not yet registered along the Norwegian coast.
Habitat:
It is usually found on hard substrate like rocks and shells. It occurs from the lower shore and down to at least 100 meters depth.
Distribution:
This soft coral is most frequent from the Mediterranean to the western coasts of the British Isles. Sporadic registrations have been made along the coast of Norway, as far north as Trøndelag.
