Characteristics:

This soft coral forms bushy, usually white, but sometimes reddish or light brown, colonies. The non-retractable polyps often sit in groups of three.

Habitat:

It prefers rocky substrate on current exposed locations. It has been encounted on 15 meters depth, but is more frequent below 40 meters.

Distribution:

This soft coral is widespread in the northern parts of the Atlantic Ocean. Along the Norwegian coast it is only registered north of Hordaland.
