Characteristics:
The base diameter may reach 10 cm. The column has clearly visible tubercles. Approximately 100 tentacles are arranged in multiples of six. The color is usually pale pink or orange, sometimes almost white. The mouth opening has a more saturated shade of pink or orange.
Habitat:
Registrations are at depths between 24 and 660 meters. It seems to prefer hard, rocky substrate or gravel. It is not unusual to find it sitting on snail shells or even crabs.
Distribution:
It is well known along the coasts of the North Sea.
