Characteristics:

This is a solitary sea squirt with a body length of up to 13 cm. The color is grey or white, lacking the red pigmentation of A. scabra. There is an oral siphon at the top, and another siphon approximately 1/3 of the way down the side of the body. It is attached at the base as well as along one side of the body. There are often light markings around the siphons.

Habitat:

It is attached to hard substrates or sometimes algae, from the subtidal zone and down to 60 meters depth.

Distribution:

It is registered from Norway to the Mediterranean.
