Characteristics:
This is among the smaller crabs, the carapace may reach a maximum width of 4 cm. The color is reddish or pale brown. The claw tips are black. The edge between the eyes are smooth, without any teeth.
Habitat:
The Risso's crab is found on depths down to approximately 100 meters. It prefers to hide under rocks or buried in coarse gravel.
Distribution:
It is widespread in the East Atlantic Ocean, from the west coast of Africa to Scandinavia.
