Characteristics:

This is one of the larger shrimps in Norwegian waters, it may reach a length of 10 cm. It is translucent with red or brown pigmented spots. The relatively long rostrum has 5-7 spines on the upper side and 3-5 spines on the lower. The rostrum is the easiest way to distinguish this species from other members of the Eualus family.

Habitat:

It can be found on both hard and soft substrate, on sand as well as rocky locations. It has been registered from the tidal zone and down to 300 meters depth.

Distribution:

It is well known from both sides of the North Atlantic Ocean. In Europe it has been registered from Murmansk to the British Isles and Denmark.
