Characteristics:

Adults are between 35 and 45 mm long. The color is pale red, orange or yellow, often with white paintings. It lacks the blue stripes of the G. strigosa. It can be difficult to distinguish from the G. nexa. The most obvious difference is perhaps the slightly more elongated rostrum. Furthermore there is less hair on first pair of legs (the claws).

Habitat:

This small squat lobster can be found on depths between 10 and 50 meters.

Distribution:

It is distributed from Iceland and Norway to Madeira and the Canaries as well as the Mediterranean.
