The Stauromedusae are attached to a surface by an adhesive disk at the base of a more or less distinct stalk. They have eight arms, often organized in pairs. Each arm supports a cluster of tentacles. The sexes are separate. Gonads are spawned into the water where they develop into planula larvae. These will eventually settle and develop into a new goblet shaped individual.
